This is the stick worm caterpillar that hides itself in the sticks to avoid predation.
The host plants are from the families: Poaceae, Birch, Willow, Poplar and Vaccinium. The caterpillars make a protective hull from grass, sticks or thorns in this case.
Later it transforms into a moth.

The thorns are straight, strong and white.
Usually up to 4 cm but may reach 8 or 9 cm.
