Ōtarawairere Beach New Zealand

Otarawairere is the hidden jewel of the Whakatāne-Ōhope area. This secluded beach is accessible only on foot or by kayak, but the trip is definitely worth the effort. Pohutukawa trees on a beach of stone and crushed seashells, and the warm waters of the Pacific lap quietly against the shore, creating an unrivalled, peaceful atmosphere.

Sunday Stills: Monthly Color Challenge: Violet

Violet is the color of amethyst and lavender. It takes its name from the violet flower. Violet and purple look very similar; but violet is a true color, with its own wavelength on the spectrum of visible light, while purple is a composite color, made by combining blue and red.
