Historic Victorian village and National Heritage Site set in the Matjiesfontein inthe Karoo. Built by James Logan in the late 1800’s as a destination for the wealthy where the air is said to be like ‘dry champagne’.
It was the custom for Afrikaner married couples to name their first son after the husband’s father and their first daughter after the wife’s mother. My granny had 7 children, 5 of them had daughters!! Therefor in my family there were 6 Aletta’s!!
