I love all those white painted churches, such a contrast to our grey-stone ones where I live in the UK, on the Isle of Wight where most of the churches date from the 12th – 15th century. I have been trying to find my picture of a church in Northern Spain that was covered in shells but I can’t find it – that would have been a white church.
Thank you so much for your visit Maris. We do have some churches in sandstone. I must just look for those photos. The church covered in shells must be amazing
That’s quite a mix, and I really like the Bosges Chapel, such an interesting shape and with the mountains behind. It’s triggered me a little now as to my own choice of local medieval churches when I have quite an archive of temples in Asia for example and a very unusual one above the Arctic circle in Norway, all shiny stainless steel against a backdrop and area of ice! Thanks for joining in 🙏
Wonderful, I too have just completed this challenge. =)

I haven’t read too many posts from South Africa so this is very interesting! The churches I would have thought would have been much smaller,,,,,,,

Most of our churches are quite big! We do however also have smaller ones too
