  1. Beautiful scenes Aletta – when we visited Cape Town years ago we drove out to the Stellenbach area and also around to the Cape of Good Hope. Would we have passed your neighborhood along the way? As I recall it was all truly lovely and your images prove it!

  2. Wow! Spectacular photos Aletta. What a lovely place you have moved to. Love, love, love the Proteas and the sunbird! And those wild flowers. How amazing it must be to see those carpeting the land in the spring. I always wanted to visit the northern Cape to see them blooming. It looks very peaceful up there, much better than Cape Town I imagine.

    1. Thank you so much Jude! We love living here and do not miss the rush and the busy life of Cape Town. The proteas are so beautiful and every year surpasses the previous year. The bird life is stunning and this week I saw a yellow bishop for the first time. The wild flowers are just amazing! My sister were in the Northern Cape this year and show of flowers were spectacular! I would love to go there next year. It is so peaceful here and enjoy the fact that the ocean is just a stone throw away!

  3. A beautiful neighborhood, Aletta – so well captured! And the beaches and the flowers – the bird is magical! What a beauty. I read in your comments that it is a Malachite Sunbird. Thank you for taking us!
