Leonotis leonurus, also known as lion’s tail and wild dagga, is a plant species in the mint family, is now in bloom. The sunbirds love this plant.

    1. The plant is a broadleaf evergreen large shrub native to South Africa and southern Africa, where it is very common. It grows amongst rocks and in grassland. Its distribution is more concentrated along the wetter eastern and southern seaboard. It is found is found in sandy, clayey, loam or stony areas, forest margins or rough grasslands at altitudes ranging from 5-1980 m.
