I see you have an orchid, Aletta. I just bought another one a few days ago as a birthday gift to myself. I think they’ll eventually flower again (maybe?), but I’ll have to look up online to see if I can find out how…or if they don’t and I just need to get rid of the other one.
When watering your orchids, take care to avoid wetting the leaves. If water gets trapped in between the leaves, dry them quickly by using a piece of tissue or a cotton ball.
After watering, do not allow residual or standing water to come in contact with the base of the orchid pot.
When the last flower drops, cut your flower spike halfway down the stem. A possible rebloom will occur if you continue caring for your orchid. I hope this will help
Thanks, Aletta! I need to cut the spike down, even though it’s been some weeks since the orchids stopped blooming. I’ll keep caring for them and see if I get a re-bloom. They certainly don’t need much water, either. This last one says to use two ice cubes a week. 🙂
Pragtig en elegant. Met tee wat bedien word in Royal Albert koppies en teepot en melk- en suikerpotjie wat daarby pas. Silwer teelepels. Rustig in die huis, dalk sagte musiek wat op die agtergrond speel.
Wonderful – very homely
