Color your World: Lavender

Lavender is a pale tint of violet. It applies particularly to the colour of the flower of the same name. The first recorded use of the word lavender as a color term in English was in 1705.

In 1949 Crayola launched their flagship assortment, the new No. 48 box.The box was an expansion of their existing No. 24. 

With this introduction there were six colors that seemed to be completely new:  Azure Blue, Cerulean Blue, Dark Red, Lavender, Mahogany, Salmon.IMG_4689
