Colour your world – Beaver

Beaver is a color that is a representation of the average color of the fur of a beaver.

The first recorded use of beaver as a color name in English was in 1705.[5]

The color “beaver” was formulated as one of the Crayola colors in 1998.

He's watching me....
He’s watching me….

Etymologically, it’s believed that the words “brown” and “beaver” ultimately stem from the same root word.

  1. Another interesting name for a colour. I think I’ll have to sneak a look into Louise’s box of crayons and see if she has some with these unusual names. Interesting that the words beaver and brown share the same root, too. ๐Ÿ™‚
