Bench series #7

For the month of February we process our benches in Black and White.

Benches at at the Lady Knox Geyser in the Waiotapu area of the Taupo Volcanic Zone in New Zealand. It is named after Lady Constance Knox, the second daughter of Uchter Knox, 15th Governor of New Zealand.

  1. Thanks for joining in this week Aletta 🙂 I am assuming that there are these rows of benches so visitors can sit here and wait for the geyser to blow? How did you manage a photo with no-one there?

    1. Yes it is there for the visitors. The geyser is induced to erupt daily at 10:15am by dropping a surfactant into the opening of the vent. Eruptions produce a jet of water reaching up to 20m and can last for over an hour,depending on the weather. The day we were there it was cold and miserable. We arrived there at about 3 o’ clock!
