Anthurium , is a genus of about 1000 species of flowering plants, the largest genus of the arum family, Araceae.
General common names include anthurium, tailflower, flamingo flower and laceleaf.
The genus is native to the Americas, where it is distributed from northern Mexico to northern Argentina and parts of the Caribbean.
The only ones you’re likely to see in the garden are the flowering varieties with their multicolored spathes and red or yellow tail-like flower spikes.

Native to tropical rain forests throughout Central and South America, many anthuriums are climbers and all need very high humidity and warmth to thrive.

Spectacular flowers with a long life in a pot or vase. Nice photos!
